Startup Problems Empty
PostSubject: Startup Problems   Startup Problems EmptyWed Aug 19, 2009 10:01 pm

Usually , when computer s refuse to start up , it will go down to these few problems :

Open the casing , if there's a warranty void ( beta not)

1. Go to your Ram slot , take out the Ram , loosen it and blow or brush the gold chips below.
then replace it back

if your computer doesnt startup , now check your pci -e slots , see whether is there any thing loose . if yes ,
tighten it back. if this doesnt solve your problem ,

2. check your CPU FAN , make sure it is tighten coz , most of the time , the core will over heat
and result in startup failure.

3.check your PSU (power supply unit) . Now , you will need a practical practice to see whether it is dead or alive.
usually , (ill post the picture some other time) you should take some conductable material like Timah . insert one end of it
to the black hole and the other end to the green , white or silver hole. then turn on the power ( dont forget to unplug everything
from the mobo) if the fan is blowing constantly , then your PSU is in good shape , otherwise , too bad . go buy a new one.

4.Now, if you require a faster way of attempting of checking your pc. just unplug the 22 pins and plug it back . This will ensure your
mobo power is at the right position.

5. Take out any pendrive if there's any. This may happens sometimes, where the BIOS will enable the usb as the Main bootable drive , instead of the hard disk in your pc.

6. Clearing the CIMOS . that is the little tiny battery under the mobo . take this out for a while then place it back .
it will make sure that your mobo is running at the right timing.

Problems that are out of your handles :

1. Mobo Rosak - may be due to the overheating of other two chipset . usually happens on lga 775 mobo , but not sure bout 1398 mobo ( quad -core)

2. Hard-disk - we called it the dead-star . when a Hd fails , whats the use of the whole pc !?!? Sent it back for warranty , dun even bother to repair .

3.Cpu overheated - the cpu can actually be used again , plus if you are wiling to dump around Rm 400 into aftermarket fans , etc.

4. Psu - KABOOMMMMM !! but , can be fixed . ive fixed a couple of Dells , but frankly , acer is the worst ( trust me )
